Composite Decking Installation
Composite decking is a fantastic choice for those seeking a hard-wearing and low maintenance alternative to traditional decking. The Southern Decking Company can create and install a bespoke composite deck to suit your needs.
From beginning to end, The Southern Decking Company can make your decking dreams a reality. We liaise with all our clients, taking them through our unique Millboard products, to conceptualise and design a deck to suit their needs. We supply everything needed to construct your new deck, giving you time to sit back and let us get to work. Our experienced installers will professionally lay your deck with unparalleled attention to detail.
To help our customers better understand the process, below we have outlined the three most common composite installation techniques we employ.
Residential Projects
Commercial Projects
Conventional ground level composite decking installation
For our customers who require a complete installation, we will start by removing any turf if required. The following steps will then be actioned:
- Membrane installed
- Compacted type 1 aggregates laid
- Concrete poured to creating a hard standing
- 50x50mm Plas-Pro recycled plastic joists fixed to concrete
- Composite decking fixed to joists using Durafix fixings
Existing hard surface composite decking installation
We can utilise existing hard surfaces for our clients. Installation of this type proceeds as follows:
- Self levelling DuoLift adjustable cradles installed
- A Plas-Pro or DuoSpan sub frame erected
- Composite decking fixed to joists using Durafix fixings
Elevated decking installation
Elevated decks are particularly useful for clients with sloping or split-level gardens. As with conventional ground level composite decking installation we will start by removing any turf. Installation will then continue with:
- Membrane installation
- Compacted type 1 aggregates laid
- Upright Plas-Pro posts concrete into the ground
- Concrete poured to creating a hard standing
- A Plas-Pro or DuoSpan sub frame erected
- Composite decking fixed to joists using Durafix fixings
Millboard decking installation
All composite decking installed by The Southern Decking Company is supplied by Millboard. Millboard decking is our number one choice as it can be used in both residential and commercial settings for a variety of reasons. Millboard is the perfect product for outdoor decking, but it can also be used to create steps, planters, bridges, seating areas, pontoons, and hot tub bases too.
Millboard is unique as each moulded length is cast from oak. This means that despite not opting for a natural wood you still get the beautiful textures and grains. Furthermore, Millboard is made from a polymer resin; this means your decking will never deteriorate or become slippery as traditional wood decks can over time.
At The Southern Decking Company, we stock a wide range of Millboard products, including Enhanced Grain, Weathered Oak and Lasta-Grip.
